Proposed Inner Moray Firth Local Development Plan

Here’s the latest news about the proposed Inner Moray Firth Local Development Plan from Highland Council.

You may recall that in early 2021 you made a written comment on the Inner Moray Firth Local Development Plan. The Council’s relevant committees considered all comments received and then made policy and development site choices which now are embodied within a new document called the Proposed Plan. We are statutorily obliged to tell you that this Plan has been published so that you can consider making further comment.

I attach a copy of the statutory press advertisement that explains the details of the public consultation. You can access the Plan documents and make comment via:

Any comments you wish to make must be made anytime between 25 March 2022 and 12 noon on Friday 17 June 2022.

If you have any queries then please email or one of the Development Plans Team planners listed below. However, these email addresses should not be used for submission of comments. We will also be raising awareness of the Plan through a neighbour notification mailshot, other direct emails, the printed press and social media.

As many people reported difficulties in reading and commenting on the online version of the Main Issues Report, the Plan now contains a comprehensive guide on how to read and comment on the document. There is also an updated video.

Tim Stott (Planning and Environment)

I’ve cut and pasted the bits of the plan that mention Strathpeffer specifically, and I’ve also included a more detailed map of the village. I’ve not watched the video but I still don’t find the website easy to navigate and make your comments.
