Community Resilience Group Weekly Briefing – 17 December 2021

I hope you have all had a good week. You will all be aware of the concerns around the increase in the number of cases of the new variant Omicron. New guidance has been issued by the Scottish Government and everyone is urged to follow their advice. Please be extra cautious and follow government guidance in order to limit the spread of the virus. The Highland Council free Coronavirus Helpline 0300 303 1362 will remain open over the festive period. Usual hours are Monday – Friday 9-5pm, it is available for emergency calls out with this time and this includes the Christmas period and bank holidays. This week’s briefing is attached and contains information on:

  • The current numbers of COVID cases across Highland
  • Key points from the new Scottish Government Guidance on staying safe and protecting others, and a link to guidance for safer businesses and workplaces
  • Details of asymptomatic and symptomatic testing.
  • Information on the new fuel support payment agreed by the Council last week.
  • We have attached the separate briefing circulated last week on winter readiness which includes key contact number and details of winter welfare support. A one page summary of key numbers is also attached.
  • This week’s key stakeholder briefing from NHS Highland
