Some postcards of the Pavilion and Gardens from the early 1900s feature figures in kilts.
They were employed as caretakers and one of them, Alexander MacLennan, was also a piper.
He wrote a series of postcards to his then girlfriend, Maggie McKenzie, who worked as a cook in a number of places including Grantown and Forres.
Their relationship flourished over a period of years and they eventually married in Forres in 1909. Soon after their wedding they moved into Ivy Cottage (now White Lodge) and Alexander (or San as he signed himself to Maggie) was now described as Piper and Caretaker at the Mineral Wells and Pump Room.
